The audience for the Simpsons is all ages, cultures and backgrounds.
As the jokes and catchphrases
vary it allows all audienced to
enjoy something that relates to them.
This I believe has a great impact for the success of The Simpsons .

What about cultures that don't have electricity?
You need to be really specific about audience. What you can do is investigate how different elements of the show appeal to different age groups.
